MARK HORNUNG
Mark is a founding shareholder and managing director of Community Magazine Group. He has a 35 year career in newspapers, television, radio, magazines and digital publishing that includes newsroom and business leadership roles at United Press International, Crain’s Chicago Business, the Chicago Sun-Times, Midwest Suburban Publishing Co. and Community Media Group.
JASON MAHOLY
Jason is the editor of Community Health Magazine, and has been with the company since November 2016. Jason is a veteran of the publication industry who prior to joining CHM worked in both newspapers and magazines. He is an award-winning news reporter, commentary writer, photographer and editor.
Rebecca Fortner
Rebecca comes to Community Health Magazine with a background in journalism and education. She has a degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Master’s in Special Education from Illinois State University. She previously worked as a newspaper reporter and copy editor and as a high school English and Journalism teacher.
COURTNEY WEED
Courtney is the Director of Client Services at Community Health Magazine. She brings a very robust skill set from her 29 years of marketing experience including but not limited to: graphic design, magazine and direct mail development, social media content management, brand development, client education platforms, event marketing, videography, and photography. She is a graduate of the American Academy of Art in Chicago. Courtney is also an accomplished artist and is known as a passionate, creative, and motivating team builder throughout her career.
STEVE METSCH
Steve has 33 years of experience working as a reporter and editor in the newspaper industry. In addition to writing and editing for Community Health, Metsch also serves as a freelance writer contributing to the Illinois News Network, the Urban Strategies Group and the Desplaines Valley News. He’s highly skilled in uncovering interesting stories, writing about detailed topics, and covering breaking news and human interest stories.
BOB BONG
Bob is an award-winning wordsmith who has worked more than 40 years in the print and digital news business doing everything from editing to reporting to page designing for companies including the Chicago Tribune, Daily Southtown, Patch, DNAInfo and The Daily Calumet. At present, Bob is editor of the Desplaines Valley News and The Regional News. He’s also co-founder of Southland Savvy, an online newspaper, and founder of Comings & Goings, an online business column that tracks business openings and closings in the Chicago market.
CHUCK SCHADING
Chuck is the Digital Content Director for Community Media Group. He is also the Managing Editor at the Finger Lakes Times daily newspaper in Geneva, N.Y., where he began his journalism career as a copy editor in 1999. He holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the State University of New York at Brockport.
TYLER COUTY
Tyler has more than 20 years of creative design experience helping media companies and organizations across all industries improve their brand awareness and messaging through print, web design, and video production. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to identify areas of opportunity, he has successfully implemented process improvement systems for design and content fulfillment.
JOE ZANNELLI
Joe has 24 years of experience in publishing, newspapers, magazines, printing, and graphic design. He has been employed at Crain’s Chicago Business, 22nd Century Media, and many Fortune 500 companies throughout Chicago as a Graphic Designer, Editorial Designer, Creative Manager, and Art Director.
JEFF MERCER
Jeff is a Pittsburgh resident with a diverse background in sales and marketing over the past forty years throughout the Eastern United States. Jeff is the Regional Sales Representative for Community Health Magazine handling print and digital sales in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.
